“…When things get tough, you need to get tough with it. More importantly, though, you need to be at your best. There is no compromise on this point. Your best is demanded.”

- Phil Gould

Finally, after what seems like both the longest and the shortest season in history, the last game of three-straight weeks of State of Origin is upon us. And what a game it could be.

A State of Origin decider isn’t just another game. It’s the biggest game the rugby league Gods can conjure. …

Here we are again. New South Wales have once again scored a try too late in Game 1, making it look closer than it was, losing 18–14 and heading into a win or go home Game 2. In 2019 after a 18–14 loss the Blues bounced back to blow Queensland off the field with a 34 point Victory.

Blues fans will be looking for history to repeat itself and and the hyper passionate Queenslanders will be pleading for their Maroons to close the series out with a game to play. …

I woke up with a decision to make; write a timely Game One article that will actually be read by people or let my fury fade away slightly in the hopes of writing something other than just mad ramblings. I started writing this somewhere in-between and got progressively more angry the more I wrote.

There are numerous problems with the Blues performance and (excuse my fury) while the Maroons played better in the second half, New South Wales lost the game more than Queensland won it.

With that being said, if you’re a blues fan, take a ride of anger…

We all know that teams are more than a collection of individuals, especially when it comes to the greatest Rivalry in Australian Sport. It would be the height of stupidity to surmise the winner by comparing each position, so let’s do it!

Fullback: James Tedesco vs AJ Brimson — Winner: Tedesco

Unless QLD have 2015 Billy Slater defrosting in the change room, this was always going to be highlighted blue. …

Well, the final games of the NBA regular season have been played and the playoff match-ups are set. Dissapointingly, due to injury and just luck (or lack of luck) of the draw, the first round is not as exciting as it could have been. That isn’t to say that there is nothing worth watching.

Lets go through each, starting with the riveting match-up of the First seeded Bucks and the Eighth seeded Orlando Magic.

Bucks v Magic - 4–0

It’s going to be a sweep. The Bucks would win. Hell, they could probably rest Antetokounmpo and still lose no more than a game. The Bucks…

Zion. Thats it. Thats the storyline.

Annoying tweet structured headline aside, who doesn’t love some Zion? Other than being a great kid who’s taken the NBA in stride all while staying down to earth throughteenage fame, Williamson is good at basketball. Yes, The pelicans have a 28–36 record and face the difficult objective of reaching the eight seed over the (32–33) Grizzlies and (29–37) Blazers. Playing only nineteen games this season, NBA fans have only gotten a taste of what the 6’6” 285 pound power forward can do. And what he can do is impressive. In those 19 games, Zion averaged 23.6 points 6.8 rebounds and…

At 4:50am, George ties his shoes and puts his earphones in. There are only three people in the Gym. George, an extremely fit young man and myself. Which is, of course, the reason George comes at this time. Just as the sun starts to peak over the horizon, visible through the open windows at the front of the gym, he steps onto the treadmill. Beep! As he turns on the machine. Even at a slow walking speed, George is no longer the overweight, anxious man he was seconds ago. No. With his music blasting in his ears, George is determined…

One of the most amazing things about the NBA is NBA Twitter. One second everyone talking about how bad the Lakers are and how everyone has turned their back on LeBron, next second a finals contender has traded multiple assets to acquire another All-Star level player. Around 7:00 pm AEST the Philadelphia 76ers traded Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala and Landry Shamet, as well as two first-round draft picks and two second-round draft picks for Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic and Mike Scott. Quite a lot for Harris who is at the end of his contract and will need to be resigned…

With a huge ‘Woj-bomb’ that dropped about 2 am AEST, the story broke that Agent Rich Paul had told Adrian Wojnarowski that Anthony Davis had requested a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans, claiming he “wants to be traded to a team that allows him the chance to win consistently and compete for a championship”.From …

The Western Conference is a much more exciting competition than the Eastern. In the East, you have four teams who will battle it out (Raptors, 76ers, Celtics and Bucks) and then the rest of the conference. In the West, you have Golden State and then ten or so teams who will be fighting for the remaining seven playoff positions, and it is a close fight. The tightness of the competition makes these players all the more crucial to the cause of their team. Where an improvement by some or return from injury by others could boost their team from ninth…
